Hi bookworms! Here's our first Q&A. A Fave books? — @readingintherain The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas, Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, Fallen by Lauren Kate, Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, Strange Angels by Lili. St Crow, Angelfall by Susan Ee, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, Frostbite by Richelle Mead, Valley of The Dolls by Jacqueline Susann, The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (these are just a few of my favourite books, I have many more!) Your fave bookstore? @sintiawithbooks I can’t decide between Dymocks in Melbourne’s CBD or Readings on Lygon St, because they’re both amazing bookstores. City Basement Books on Flinders St would have to be my favourite second-hand bookstore, and the Book Depository is my favourite online bookstore. What is a book that you think everyone should read? @booksfromhermione Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow. It’s such an underrated series and definitely deserves more hype. What do you think of movies based on books? @ala.soska I love movie adaptations of classic books. I always seem to enjoy them a lot more than the adaptations of fantasy, young adult or “contemporary” books. Some adaptations I loved, such as Beautiful Creatures. However there were adaptations that I really disliked, such as Vampire Academy, because it was such a huge misrepresentation of the book. While the story line was relatively the same as the books, the movie gave off a Mean Girls vibe, which was very much unlike the books. Hardcover or paperbacks? @rachaelrexds I prefer paperback books, because I find them much easier to handle while reading. Hardcover books are really pretty, but unfortunately a bit expensive here in Australia. If you would like a letter to one of the boys you’d loved before, what will you write? @claraxlala I would detail it with all of the complex emotions I had experienced during my period of infatuation, and add in the lessons I had learnt along the way. Lee Fave books? — @readingintherain White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L Armentrout, Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout, Angelfall by Susan Ee, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Your fave bookstore? @sintiawithbooks I don’t have a favourite physical store, but for an online bookstore I love Book Depository. What is a book that you think everyone should read? @booksfromhermione Angelfall by Susan Ee, because it has an amazing storyline and has unique dystopian world. What do you think of movies based on books? @ala.soska I don’t mind movies that are based on books, whether the movie is good or bad. I still enjoy watching them to see how it is interpreted from the books. However I like to read the book first before I watch the movie. Hardcover or paperbacks? @rachaelrexds Even though hardcovers are beautiful, are more durable but most of my books are paperback because hardcovers are expensive, and if you are like me, and you love buying books, it can be quite expensive to buy so many of them. Also I like to carry a book around in my bag and paperbacks make it easier to carry around as it not as heavy as a hardcover. If you would like a letter to one of the boys you’d loved before, what will you write? @claraxlala I have no clue to what write for this question. Thank you so much to everyone who posted questions. We really enjoyed doing this Q&A and will definitely be doing more in the future, so be sure to keep an eye out.
Happy Reading, Lee & A
