Hi Bookworms! Here's my bookshelf tour. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below or on our instagram page. At this present moment I own exactly 465 physical books. My collection has grown quite a lot in the past year. Pictured below is my main shelf. I struggle to get a good picture of my main shelves, as they take up more than half of the entire back wall. There are 4 rows, but I've cropped out the top one in this picture (you can view the smaller section of the 4th row in the picture below). **If you’re after a few ideas on how to expand your book collection, you can check out my ‘buying books on a budget’ blog post**
I have never really been into the genre of contemporary books, and most of the ones that I have read only gave me a stronger disdain for them. But a few months ago I decided at 2 o’clock in the morning that I just could not sleep and wanted to read a stand-alone book. I wasn’t in the mood for fantasy (fantasy is a genre I normally gravitate too), I wanted something that was easy to follow without having to understand the backstory and setting of the book. So I decided to pick up another contemporary book. I went into this book having little hope of enjoying it, and ended up falling in love with the book.
I think we can all agree that reading slumps are one of the worst things a bookworm can experience. There is nothing more frustrating than having a whole stack of books to get through, but simply not having enough motivation to get through those books.
I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately, and have a tendency to start books without finishing them. I’ve created a little list of things that have worked for me in the past, and may assist you in getting out of your own reading slump. |
